CSAC Presents Annual Awards
State, County Officials Honored for Hard Work, Commitment
A number of state and county officials were honored by CSAC last week during the Association’s Annual Meeting in Anaheim, Orange County. State Senator Darrell Steinberg received the President’s Award – the Association’s top honor – for his strong and productive partnership with California counties while he served as Senate Pro Tempore.
Other award recipients included the following:
- Past Presidents’ Lifetime Achievement Award: Former Assembly Member and Yolo County Supervisor Helen Thomson.
- Distinguished Service Award: State Senator Lois Wolk, Assembly Member Richard Gordon and former California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Undersecretary Martin Hoshino.
- Circle of Service Award: Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach, Los Angeles County Chief Executive Officer William T. Fujioka, Santa Cruz County Administrative Officer Susan Mauriello, Tehama County Counsel Arthur Wylene, Santa Barbara County Public Works Director Scott McGolpin, retired Solano County Health and Social Services Director Patrick Duterte, California Transportation Commissioner Joe Tavaglione, and former California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems CEO Melissa Stafford Jones.
CSAC also honored the following outgoing Association Board of Director members: Marin County Supervisor Susan Adams, Calaveras County Supervisor Merita Callaway, Plumas County Supervisor Jon Kennedy, Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach, Trinity County Supervisor Judy Pflueger, El Dorado County Supervisor Norma Santiago, and Del Norte County Supervisor Michael Sullivan.
“CSAC is only as strong as our membership and those who understand the vital role of California Counties,” said Executive Director Matt Cate. “The individuals we honored at our Annual Meeting have worked hard on behalf of our 58 counties and the 38 million people we represent.”
