Former CSAC President Kay Ceniceros Passes Away
Former CSAC President and Riverside County Supervisor Kay Ceniceros passed away Friday at the age of 81. She was the first woman to serve on the Riverside Board of Supervisors when first elected in 1980.
Ms. Ceniceros served four terms on the Riverside board; during her tenure as a county supervisor, she was very active in CSAC, and served as President in 1987.
CSAC Past President John Tavaglione, who retired last year from the Riverside Board, had the pleasure of serving with Ms. Ceniceros. He told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that she was a tough elected leader who always practiced diplomacy in a gentle way.
Ms. Ceniceros earned numerous awards during her career as an elected leader, including by named Woman of the Year of the California Legislature in 1990.
