Highlights of the Annual Meeting include:
General Sessions – CSAC will hold two virtual sessions — on Thursday, Nov. 12, and Monday, Nov. 16, that will feature videos, awards announcements and, of course, informative featured speakers. As previously mentioned, Governor Newsom will highlight the Thursday, Nov. 12, Kick-Off Session.
Virtual Workshops – A total of five workshops are slated for the conference, including two being conducted by our friends at the Institute for Local Government that will satisfy mandatory ethics and harassment training. Other sessions will focus on “Tips on Lobbying during the Coronavirus Pandemic,” the “Intersection of the Global Pandemic and Cultural Responsiveness,” and the ever-popular “California County Roundtable.”
Policy Committee, Caucus & Board of Directors Meetings – These meetings provide county officials an opportunity to participate and help set the Association’s direction on key policy issues for 2021, as well as a say in CSAC’s leadership for the coming year.
Other Key Meetings – A number of other key meetings will take place in conjunction with CSAC activities, including an informational sessions for Supervisors-Elect, Women’s Leadership Forum, Latino Caucus of California Counties, and San Joaquin Valley Regional Counties Association.
Election & Swearing In of 2020-21 Officers – It’s that time of year when our membership elect our Officers, who will then be sworn in to conclude the Annual Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19. Our Urban, Suburban and Rural Caucuses will also elect their Executive Committee representatives for 2021.
Social/Networking Events – We want to provide our members an opportunity to network so a number of activities are planned, including Coffee with our President, Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett; a meditation session to start your day off on the right foot; and a guaranteed evening of fun Tuesday called “Virtuosity — A Taste and See Experience” that will feature the extraordinary talent and experiences from various California Counties.
It promises to be an informational and eventful week. Don’t miss out on these events.
