HHS Policy Committee Meeting
The Health and Human Services Policy Committee will meet on Monday, August 13, from 1:30-2:00 p.m., in person and via conference call. The Committee will develop a positon on Proposition 2: The No Place Like Home (NPLH) Act of 2018, and hear updates on newly released homelessness funding. The agenda packet and call-in information are now available online at this link. Members are encouraged to participate to provide direction on the Proposition 2 action item.

HEAP Guidance and Sample Resolution Released
The Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH) and The Homeless Coordinating and Finance Council (HCFC) has released new guidance for the Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP). HEAP is one of many programs intended to assist local governments battle California’s homelessness and housing crisis. The recent guidance provides information on applicant eligibility, allowable uses, program and application timelines, and a detailed overview of the program. The guidance also includes a Sample Declaration of Shelter Crisis Resolution and Continuum of Care (CoC) funding estimates.
Counties interested in staying informed on the HEAP program can visit the HCFC website, and register for the program listserv. HCFC will also answer questions they receive in their HCFC@BCSH.ca.gov inbox. CSAC will continue updating their Homelessness Resource page with most recent resources available.
