Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson

CSAC is only as strong as its membership. This week’s Profiles in Leadership spotlights Keith Carson, who is currently in his eighth term as Alameda County Supervisor for District 5. Supervisor Carson holds the honor for being the longest serving Supervisor with over 25 consecutive years; he was first elected in 1996. Supervisor Carson is passionate about local government, and his commitment is reflected is his active participation on the CSAC Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Supervisor Carson honorably served as CSAC President in 2017 where he led the organization to advance key county priorities and protect their interests at the State and Federal level. Supervisor Carson is a champion of inclusive and accessible government and works tirelessly to find creative solutions to shared problems, including affordability, housing and homelessness, transportation, sustainability, and access to health care.
