Registration Now Open for CSAC’s Legislative Conference Set for April 24-25
Feb. 21, 2019
Registration is now open for CSAC’s 2019 Legislative Conference. To allow for more impact on policy decisions, this year’s conference is being held earlier in the legislative cycle – April 24-25 in Sacramento. The Conference is an important time for California County supervisors and executive staff to come together to learn about and discuss the latest information coming out of the State Capitol.
The workshops planned for this year’s conference will provide important opportunities to dive deeper into County issues and develop strategies moving forward that preserve the resources, authority and flexibility counties need to meet the unique priorities of their communities.
With a new administration can come new agency and department leadership as well as priorities. While CSAC has already made great strides in forging relationships with the Governor’s office, there is more work to be done. A key feature of this year’s Legislative Conference will be a session featuring executive staff who lead state departments and agencies that oversee county programs.
Other sessions will cover issues of importance to county governance. A session on justice-related fees and fines can help counties develop strategies to cope with declining revenues, while another session about our aging population will cover the impacts to county programs and systems of care. The date of the conference has been moved up this year so attendees can learn the latest legislation news as well as have better opportunities to share issues of importance to California Counties with their legislators when they are in town.
Early bird registration for the conference is available through March 16; register by that date to save $50.00 off regular advance rates. Online registration will continue through April 12.
Reserve your hotel room at the Hyatt by clicking here. Our hotel room block offers a competitive rate and fills quickly, so we urge you to reserve your room as soon as you have registered for the conference.
