State Transportation Funding and Reform
The Governor called an extraordinary session on transportation and infrastructure development in June 2015, proposing that the Legislature enact permanent and sustainable funding to maintain and repair the state’s transportation and critical infrastructure, improve the state’s key trade corridors, and complement local infrastructure efforts.
While the special session ended in November 2016 without action, transportation funding remains one of CSAC’s major priorities for 2017. California counties will be actively engaged to make sure that the deficit in local transportation funding is part of the discussion of the larger statewide system during this ongoing debate.
