SACRAMENTO –The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) elected Amador County Supervisor Richard Forster to serve as First Vice President of the Association for the next year. He was officially sworn in November 20 at CSAC’s Annual Meeting in Anaheim, Orange County.
“CSAC helps guide public policy regarding water, the environment, land use and many other important issues,” said Supervisor Forster. “As First Vice President, I am looking forward to working with CSAC on behalf of all 58 California Counties as we try to find ways to deal with the drought, ground water management and other issues that really matter to people in their daily lives.”
Stanislaus County Supervisor Vito Chiesa was elected to serve as President of CSAC and San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts will serve as Second Vice President. Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, CSAC’s 2014 President, moves to Immediate Past President.
“Supervisor Forster brings significant experience and a great perspective to the table,” said CSAC Executive Director Matt Cate. “He has a long history of common-sense governance and a willingness to work with people on real solutions. That’s what makes him an effective leader for the people of Amador County and it also gives him a lot of credibility in Sacramento. I am looking forward to working with him as we deal with vital issues in the State Capitol.”
Supervisor Forster served as CSAC Second Vice President for the past year.
The California State Association of Counties is the voice of California’s 58 counties at the state and federal level.
