California County Supervisors Elect 2021-2022 Officers During Annual Meeting

(Sacramento, CA) – The California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the voice of California’s 58 Counties at the state and federal levels, elected its officers for 2021-22 at its 127th Annual Meeting in Monterey. The new officers were officially installed by Barbara Valenzuela.
- President – Siskiyou County Supervisor Ed Valenzuela
- First Vice President – Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington
- Second Vice President – San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Bruce Gibson
- Immediate Past President – Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore
“Never before have we come together as County leaders or an Association, to work so successfully with the Administration and the Legislature to help move our communities forward though the pandemic,” said CSAC’s new President Supervisor Valenzuela. “I am honored to lead this organization as we work together towards recovery. We have so many opportunities to keep influencing positive change. Working together, we’re leading the charge to a better world.”
“CSAC has had tremendous success this past year due to the strong and resilient partnership with our Counties,” said CSAC Executive Director Graham Knaus. “Thanks to the excellent leadership of our new officer team, I am confident this momentum will continue no matter what 2022 holds for California Counties. I am tremendously honored to partner and lead with these incredible individuals and our entire Board of Directors as we rebuild our communities and our economy together.”
Supervisor Valenzuela most recently served as the CSAC’s First and Second Vice President. He has also served as Treasurer, Rural County Caucus Chair, and as a member of the Association’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
