SACRAMENTO – The following statement is from CSAC Executive Director Matt Cate regarding passage today of three bills that comprise the MCO Fix.
“The bipartisan vote today in the Legislature approving the MCO Fix is great news for California Counties. Without this deal, the state would have been faced with a loss of more than a billion dollars in revenue—resulting in deep cuts in health care services. Inevitably, that would have affected counties and the constituents we serve.
On behalf of all 58 California counties, I applaud the Governor and the Legislature for the bipartisan effort it took to make this happen. Hopefully, the cooperative nature of this deal will extend into the transportation special session as legislators work together on issues that affect all Californians.”
The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) serves as the effective advocate and unified voice of California’s 58 counties.
