Stanislaus County Supervisor Vito Chiesa Named CSAC President
SACRAMENTO –The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) elected a new slate of Officers November 20 at the CSAC Annual Meeting in Anaheim, Orange County, swearing in Stanislaus County Supervisor Vito Chiesa as President, Amador County Supervisor Richard Forster as First Vice President and San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts as Second Vice President. Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, CSAC’s 2014 President, will serve as Immediate Past President.
“Each of these individuals has a long history of thoughtful leadership and a passion for public service in their home counties,” said CSAC Executive Director Matt Cate. “As an officer team, their years of service, experience and credibility help us tell the county story to state and federal policymakers. I am looking forward to working with them in Sacramento and in Washington, D.C. on the issues that impact all of California’s 58 counties.”
“Counties deal with issues that impact all of our daily lives such as health care, public safety, water and transportation,” said Supervisor Chiesa. “CSAC’s role representing Counties in Sacramento is critical. With the State budget situation improving, the California will hopefully be able to catch up on deferred payments to Counties sooner than expected. And the drought and other water issues will also be on our agenda for 2015. I am looking forward to a busy year.”
The California State Association of Counties is the voice of California’s 58 counties at the state and federal level.
