CSAC Elects Officers for 2021
Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore Named CSAC President

SACRAMENTO –The California State Association of Counties® (CSAC), the statewide organization representing all 58 counties, elected its officers for 2020-21 at its 126th Annual Virtual Meeting. The new officers were officially installed by Governor Gavin Newsom.
- President – Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore
- First Vice President – Siskiyou County Supervisor Ed Valenzuela
- Second Vice President – Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington
- Immediate Past President – Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett
“Throughout California, the historic has become commonplace and the unprecedented has become standard,” said CSAC’s new President Supervisor Gore. “The rubber meets the road at the county level, and as CSAC President, I am committed and determined to protect our communities, our families and the future of California.”

We’ve seen that in 2020 more than ever before,” said CSAC Executive Director Graham Knaus. “No matter what 2021 holds for California Counties, I have unparalleled confidence that our new officers, our Board of Directors and the CSAC team will lead the charge as we rebuild our communities and our economy together.”
Supervisor Gore most recently served as the CSAC’s First and
Second Vice President. He has also served on the Association’s
Board of Directors, Executive Committee and as Chair of the CSAC
Resiliency Advisory Board. Supervisor Gore also holds several
leadership positions with the National Association of
Counties.
