SACRAMENTO – The California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the statewide organization representing all 58 counties, responds to the creation of a new Statewide Vaccine Delivery Network.
In order to be successful, this new vaccine framework must balance efficiency, which can be enhanced by a variety of third parties, and equity—which counties alone are statutorily committed to and equipped to deliver. Counties are the principal partner for vaccine administration and the state’s new framework must continue to recognize this.
During many conversations with Governor Newsom’s administration throughout the pandemic, California’s Counties have repeatedly expressed our commitment and readiness to work together to move the needle on COVID-19. We hope this latest effort will move forward with tremendous transparency, data sharing and collaboration with all partners so we can vaccinate all 58, protect our communities, reopen our economy, and get children back in school.
California State Association of Counties (CSAC) is the voice of California’s 58 counties at the state and federal level.
