Additional Background:
One of the Governor’s first official acts after he was sworn in to office in 2011 was to visit CSAC and establish a strong working relationship with the organization and California’s 58 counties. That partnership has helped implement significant reforms in state government, including AB 109 (Public Safety Realignment) and major changes in the delivery of health care services after implementing the Affordable Care Act and Medi-Cal expansion. California Counties continue to partner with the Governor as we address the drought and water policy, transportation funding, climate change, additional reforms to the administration of justice and other critical issues facing California.
The California State Association of Counties is the voice of California’s 58 counties at the state and federal level.
