After leading the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) for the past five years, Executive Director Matt Cate announced Thursday that he will be leaving the organization this spring to explore new opportunities in the private sector.

“I am proud of the work we have accomplished during my time at CSAC,” Cate said. “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with an amazing group of public servants who are truly committed to serving California’s 39 million residents. I’ve also been blessed to lead a talented staff who is wholly dedicated to the mission of serving our 58 counties.”
